2 Chinese nationals, Pinay arrested in alleged Pasay prostitution den
Authorities arrested two Chinese nationals and a Filipina who were allegedly operating a prostitution den in a condominium unit in Pasay City.
According to Nico Waje's Saturday "24 Oras Weekend" report, the suspects were supposedly posting photos of women, who appeared to be modeling, through a messaging application.
The photos were annotated with Chinese characters, and this was how the women were allegedly being sold to Chinese nationals.
A transaction would cost anywhere from P4,000 to P16,000.
The women stayed in a condominium in Pasay City, and this was where they would meet clients.
Authorities searched the unit, and 13 Filipinas were rescued. Some cell phones were discovered that were said to be used in their online transactions.
The Department of Information and Communications Technology - Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (DICT-CICC), discovered the illegal activity in the area.
"There were some reports kasi if a lot of text blasting coming from this area, hinanap natin kung nasaan. Dito natin nakita 'yan," said Assistant Secretary Mary Rose Magsaysay Deputy Executive Director (DICT-CICC).
The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission, meanwhile, was able to infiltrate and discover what was going on in the condominium.
"As part of the evidence na gagamitin natin dito, of course, 'yung mga transactions na nakuha natin, and then 'yung mga usapan sa mga chat groups nila. Almost 100% ng mga nagca-cater dito sa prostitution den na ito ay karamihan Chinese," said Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz, Executive Director, PAOCC.
The three arrested suspects would be charged with human trafficking. — Sherylin Untalan/DVM, GMA Integrated News
