Abandoned baby found at Las Piñas church before Simbang Gabi
An abandoned baby was found outside a church in Las Piñas before the start of Simbang Gabi, according to a 24 Oras report by Marisol Abdurahman on Wednesday.
A security guard of San Ezekiel Church found the infant wrapped in a blanket inside an eco bag early Wednesday morning.
“May nakita siyang eco bag na nakalagay sa pagitan ng 2 sasakyan sa tabi ng church. Nung nakita nya, medyo may umiyak ng konti,” said Las Piñas Police Chief Colonel Jaime Santos.
(The guard saw an eco bag placed between 2 vehicles parked beside the church. After he saw it he heard a cry.)
Police assigned to the area immediately responded to the baby’s needs.“Pagkasilip ko sa eco bag, gumagalaw pa sya. Nung nakita kong gumalaw pa sya, nagpatawag agad ako ng ambulansya para madala sya sa ospital,” said Police Corporal Shella Rosarito.
(When I peeked inside the eco bag, the baby moved. I immediately requested for an ambulance so it could be brought to the hospital.)
The baby is reportedly not in good physical condition.
“It was found out na eight months old sya at na diagnose sya for sepsis, kaya naka confine yung bata sa ospital,” added Santos.
Police said it’s possible the infant was intentionally left before the church mass so that it would be easily discovered. A backtracking team is currently trying to identify who may have left the child.—Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
