Malabon cops seize 'Christmas present' of P200,000 in drugs

Malabon police officers arrested arrested two suspects who were allegedly selling a brick of marijuana and several sachets of shabu disguised as a Christmas present, John Consulta reported Saturday on 24 Oras Weekend.

The illegal drugs had a street value of over P200,000.

"Ginawa nila itong parang regalo na nakalagy mismo sa loob ng paper bag," said Malabon police chief Police Colonel Jay Baybayan. "Kasi ngayon, sa panahon ng Pasko, hindi mo naman halata na ang Christmas paper bag ay magagamit i-conceal yung kanilang pagbebenta ng droga."

The suspects, who have yet to issuse a statement, are in the custody of the Malabon police. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
