MRT3 ops temporarily disrupted due to smoke in one train

The operations of the Metro Rail Transit-Line 3 (MRT3) were temporarily halted on Tuesday morning after smoke was detected in one train.

The incident occurred before 6:30 a.m. affecting a southbound train, according to a report by Hani Abbas on Dobol B TV.

Shortly after leaving the Kamuning Station, the driver operator announced over the public address system that someone pressed the emergency button.

At the next station, Cubao, passengers were asked to disembark so authorities could inspect the trains.

Smoke was detected in one of the trains, though no fire occurred.

Operations resumed and passengers were able to board the MRT3 shortly afterward. —KG, GMA Integrated News
