Eight-year-old loses hand after unexploded firecracker placed in fire

An eight-year-old boy lost his hand after a highly explosive firecracker went off while he and his brothers and a friend were playing a few hours before the New Year in Sampaloc, Manila.

According to James Agustin's report on "24 Oras," the four boys gathered pieces of paper and burned them in a bonfire.

One of them picked up a firecracker that didn't explode and placed it in the fire. Shortly after, it exploded.

All four victims were brought to the hospital and three were discharged after getting threated. The eight-year-old was brought to the children's hospital where his hand was amputated. —NB, GMA Integrated News
