150 families lose home in a fire in Recto, Manila
At least 150 families lost their homes in a fire that hit a residential area in front of a mall along Recto Avenue in Manila Wednesday afternoon.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR), said the blaze reached first alarm at 3:14 p.m.
The fire reached fifth alarm at 3:46 p.m. which means 10 or more houses have been affected and 20 fire trucks are needed to contain it. It was declared under control at 5:24 p.m.
Due to the fire, LRT2 management implemented a provisionary service. The trains will only run from Legarda station to Antipolo station and vice versa.

In a report on 24 Oras, GMA's Mark Salazar said the fire spread quickly as the houses were made of light materials.
It added the firefighters had a hard time containing the blaze.
