2 men wanted for statutory rape nabbed by police
Authorities on Tuesday arrested two suspects in the allegedly rape of two minors in Pasig, Emil Sumangil reported on 24 Oras.
The first suspect, who raped his step-sister, was arrested by the Eastern Police District Mobile Force Battalion. The crime happened in Pasig City last year.
“Base sa warrant of arrest, mayroon siyang two counts ng (he is facing two counts of) statutory rape at acts of lasciviousness,” said Police Major Edgar Escreza, Assistant Force Commander (EPD-MFB).
After hiding in Siargao Island for a few months, the suspect returned to Pasig City to visit his step-sister. |
(His reason was to ask for forgiveness from the victim, who happens to be his stepsister, a daughter of his mother. The victim said the family is determined to file a case against her stepbrother.)
In a separate operation in Taguig City, EPD Special Operations Unit arrested a man who raped his 13-year old niece in 2022.
(He changed a lot physically; he looks thinner and lost weight. He went to Baras in Rizal, and he also went to Pateros last week, and we were able to track him.)
Based on police investigation, the suspect asked the victim to come with him to look for his other niece. It turned out that the suspect only used it to lure the victim.
(Unfortunately, when she went with the man, he had his way with her.)
The suspect has not yet given any statement.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has instructed the police districts to pay close attention to cases concerning violence against women and children following the increase in these crimes.
