Manila suspends face-to-face classes on Wednesday due to 'dangerous' heat

Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan suspended the face-to-face classes for public and private schools on Wednesday due to the dangerous heat level.

In a Facebook post Tuesday, the Manila public information office said this is due to a dangerous level forecast of 43°C from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office.

“Schools are advised to shift to asynchronous classes,” the statement read.

PAGASA said that heat index at a danger level or 42°C to 51°C exposes individuals to the risk of heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
