Raided Pasay restobar with ‘payola’ folder being probed —Abalos

Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. said a development from a raid on a restaurant bar in Pasay City is being investigated. 

''I was informed of this and we're having it investigated. Papatingnan ko muna itong tinatawag na papel na ito [I'll have this supposed paper looked into]. I'll have it investigated,'' Abalos told reporters. 

A folder labeled “payola,” containing petty cash vouchers listing amounts and the names of law enforcement agencies, had been found inside the restobar, which is an alleged prostitution den. 

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has said it would look into the case, but said that it would be difficult to base a case solely on the vouchers.

Authorities reported arresting 27 foreigners and 80 Filipinos in the restobar during the operation on Saturday.
