LRT1 limits operations due to technical fault

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Tuesday said operations in majority of the stations of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) were paused due to a technical fault at the Balintawak Station.

In an update as of 4:50 a.m., the LRMC said trains ran only from Baclaran to Monumento Stations and vice versa as its team was fixing the issue.

“Limited operations for LRT-1. Trains run only from Baclaran to Monumento Station and vice versa due to technical fault. Our team is already working on the fault at Balintawak,” the LRMC said.

“Apologies for the inconvenience. Thank you for your patience,” it added.

After over an hour, the LRMC updated that LRT1 has resumed full operations from Baclaran to Fernando Poe Jr. Stations and vice versa.

Some LRT1 passengers were forced to take jeepneys, buses, and taxis with higher fares while train operations were still limited, according to a report of Christian Maño on Dobol B TV. This also caused delay in their commute. —Joviland Rita/KG, GMA Integrated News
