Taguig LGU bags awards for outstanding revenue performance


The local government of Taguig City bagged multiple awards for its growth and performance when it comes to local revenues.

The City of Taguig earned multiple awards at the Bureau of Local Government Finance's (BLGF) 37th Anniversary Stakeholders' Recognition. 

The BLGF recognized the city with the following awards:

  • Third Place in Local Source Revenue Collections for Fiscal Years 2022 and 2023;
  • Fourth Place in Yearly Growth of Local Source Revenues for Fiscal Year 2022;
  • Fourth Place for the Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for Fiscal Year 2022
  • Fifth Place for the Ratio of Local Source Revenues to Total Current Operating Income for Fiscal Year 2023.

The awards highlight the city’s effective management of business taxes, real property taxes, and other revenue streams, driving increased income that directly supports essential social services.

“Our success in local revenue collection is not just about numbers—it’s about turning those numbers into meaningful programs and services that improve the lives of every Taguigeño,” Mayor Lani Cayetano said in a press release.

Cayetano stressed that these achievements reflect the collaborative efforts of the city government, residents, and businesses.

Last year, Taguig City ranked third among the highest-earning local government units with a revenue of ?13.54 billion, based on data from the BLGF under the Department of Finance. —Anna Felicia Bajo/RF, GMA Integrated News
