QC LGU traffic advisory on Dec. 31 due to New Year's Eve event

The local government of Quezon City on Thursday advised motorists of traffic along Elliptical Road on Tuesday, December 31 due to the expected number of attendees to the city’s New Year’s Eve celebration at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

The LGU said the countdown event will already start at 4 p.m., hence, motorists are advised to take alternate routes.

“Elliptical Road/PCA and QC Hall Gate 1 and 2 will be used by pedestrians once the underground walkway is full,” the advisory said.

Further, the city government also listed the designated parking areas:

• Quezon City Hall
• Quezon Memorial Circle
• Mayaman Street
• Matalino Street
• Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago Avenue
• North Avenue/QMR
• Elliptical Road Inner Lane (Diagonal Parking)

“Diagonal Parking along Elliptical Road will be used once all parking slots are occupied/full,” the advisory read.

The QC LGU assured that personnel from its Traffic and Transport Management Department and the Department of Public Order and Safety will ensure the smooth flow of traffic during next week’s revelry. — Vince Angelo Ferreras/RSJ, GMA Integrated News
