Walk of Thanksgiving to kick-off Nazareno 2025

The Minor Basilica and National Shrine of Jesus Nazareno released on Monday the route for the Walk of Thanksgiving, which marks the start of activities for the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in 2025. 

The Walk of Thanksgiving features the image of the Jesus Nazareno on board the carroza as parish officials and devotees walk on the streets around the church. 

Devotees will assemble evening of December 30 and the walk will start at 12 midnight on Tuesday, December 31. The route spans 4.5 kilometers. 

Here is the route for this year: 

  • Plaza Miranda (starting point) 
  • Villalobos Street 
  • Right Palanca Street 
  • Right Lacson Plaza 
  • Right Carriedo Street 
  • Left Evangelista Street 
  • Right Gonzalo Puyat Street 
  • Right Quezon Boulevard South Bound 
  • Left Palanca Street 
  • Left Quezon Boulevard North Bound 
  • Right Arlegui Street 
  • Left Legarda Street 
  • Left Conception Aguila Street 
  • Right Carcer Street 
  • Right Hidalgo Street 
  • Left Bilibid Viejo Street 
  • Left Gonzalo Puyat Street 
  • Left Guzman Street 
  • Right Hidalgo Street 
  • Left Quezon Boulevard North Bound

After the Walk of Thanksgiving, it will be followed by a barangay visitation from January 1 to 6. Here is a list of other activities.

Millions of devotees flock to Quiapo Church every January 9 to honor the Jesus Nazareno in hopes of getting their prayers answered or receiving miracles. 

Among the highlights of the feast is the Traslacion, or the procession of the 400-year-old black image of Jesus Nazareno from Quirino Grandstand to Quiapo Church. 

At least 13,000 uniformed personnel, including 500 cops from the Manila Police District, will be deployed in the vicinity of Quiapo Church on the feast day. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/AOL, GMA Integrated News
