A man was arrested by the police for killing his neighbor who allegedly bullied him.
According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report on "24 Oras" on Thursday, the suspect hid from the authorities in Caloocan for being the subject of a longstanding arrest warrant.
The police said the suspect shot his neighbor for always belittling him.
“Ayon sa ating suspect, madalas siyang nabu-bully nitong victim,” said Police Major Hazel Asilo, National Capital Regional Police Office spokesperson.
(According to our suspect, the victim often bullies him.)
“Napuno na kasi nga lagi daw siyang nabu-bully, nandilim yung paningin at pinatay na yung victim,” she added.
(He had enough of his bullying which triggered him to kill the victim.)
The detained suspect said that the victim had always extorted money from him.
“Lagi ho nangongotong sakin yun,” he said. “Pagdating ko ruon, palagi akong kinukunan ng pang kain.”
(He always extorted money for his food.)
The police said the suspect drives a public utility jeepney as a sideline after he lost his job as driver of a foreigner at the height of the operations of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators.
Meanwhile, the widow of the victim is happy with the arrest of the suspect.
“Hindi ko mawari ang aking tuwa. Akala ko wala ng pag-asa,” she said.
