21-year-old injured after being attacked by minors in QC
A 21-year-old man was injured after four minors allegedly beat him up in Quezon City.
In EJ Gomez’s Monday report on “24 Oras,” the victim’s sister said he was on his way home with his girlfriend when he grazed one of the suspects along a narrow street.
The sister narrated that the victim apologized afterward, but he was challenged to a fight.
“Hinawakan po siya sa kamay tapos ginanun po ng brother ko yung tumbler yung kamay para lang umaalis dahil sobrang higpit na po dun sa pagkakahawak sa kaniya. Sinuntok na po siya sa likod starting po sa ears po. Nadapa po yung kapatid ko then pinipilit pa po nilang itayo kahit na natumba na siya para suntukin ulit,” the victim’s sister said.
(They were holding his hands so my brother used a tumbler to free himself from their grasp. He was punched at the back, starting with his ears. Despite falling down, the suspects tried to get him up just so they could punch him again.)
She added that her brother was vomiting and could not stand properly due to the backache. He felt dizzy whenever he attempted to stand up.
He also sustained wounds on his face and other parts of his body.
Barangay personnel located the two of the suspects, who were both high school students.
The police have sought comments from them.
Meanwhile, the Barangay Pasong Tamo Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) said after the incident, one of the four suspects filed a blotter.
One of the suspects, a 17-year-old teenager, said the victim also hurt him.
“Nung nasagi sa balikat, tinanong, ‘masikip ba ang daan?’ Parang, “ano ba ang problema mo?” Medyo hindi naging maganda siguro ang dating doon sa ano. Batay lang po ito sa nalalaman ko. So, agad na hinampas siya ng tumbler dito. Nung umuwi nga, duguan daw yung minor, tumutulo dito yung ano (dugo sa mukha),” said BCPC officer Maria Consuelo Eugenio.
(When the suspect was grazed, the victim asked him ‘did it hurt? What’s your problem?' And the suspect did not like that. This is just based on my knowledge. The victim hit the suspect with a tumbler. When he got home, the suspect’s face was wounded.)
The families of the two arrested minors refused to give comments to the media.
Authorities are still searching for the two other suspects as they conduct an investigation into the incident.
Eugenio said with the victim’s injuries, the minors may be put into the youth rehabilitation center for children in conflict with the law under the Department of Social Welfare and Development. — Mariel Celine Serquiña/BAP, GMA Integrated News
