Kidnap victim rescued, 5 Chinese suspects nabbed in Pasay operations
Police were able to rescue a kidnap victim and arrested five Chinese suspects following an operation in Pasay City on Wednesday morning.
According to a statement, the Pasay City Police received reports of the abduction of a 32-year-old male Chinese.
A friend of the victim also told the police that the suspects were demanding P500,000 in ransom money.
Acting on the information, the Pasay police immediately launched an entrapment operation resulting in the arrest of the suspects at around 4 a.m.
"During a follow-up operation, the suspects’ vehicle collided with a motorcycle dragging it along Macapagal Boulevard. The motorcycle driver was transported to San Juan De Dios Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival due to his injuries," the police said.
The suspects were turned over to the Pasay police's Station Drug Enforcement Unit for the filing of appropriate complaints.—JIselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
