Bomb threat disrupts classes at City of Malabon University

All afternoon classes at the City of Malabon University were suspended Monday following a bomb threat sent via email.

"On April 21, 2025 at around 10 a.m., the City of Malabon University received an email containing a bomb threat. The safety and security of our students and personnel are our utmost priority, and we are taking this matter with the utmost seriousness," the university said in a statement on its official Facebook page.

CMU explained that the decision to suspend classes was made after a thorough risk assessment in coordination with local law enforcement.

Authorities determined the threat was credible enough to warrant immediate action to ensure campus safety.

Local police are now conducting a full investigation into the origin and nature of the threat.

The university said it is fully cooperating with authorities to identify and apprehend those responsible.

The investigation includes a comprehensive campus search and digital forensic analysis.

CMU also noted that its security team was working to bolster safety measures across the campus.

While the disruption may cause inconvenience, the university stressed that the safety and well-being of the community remain the top priority.

CMU assured the public that it would continue to provide updates and take all necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
