Ex-Ombudsman Carpio-Morales endorses Stella Quimbo as Marikina mayor

Former Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales has endorsed lawmaker Stella Quimbo for Marikina City mayor in the coming midterm polls, saying that the latter's track record in public service makes her the best choice for the city.

“I’ve seen how damaging it is when the wrong people hold public office. Stella is different. She’s clean, capable, and deeply committed to serving the people,” Morales said in a statement.

''Marikina needs a leader who knows what she’s doing,'' she added.

Morales further urged residents of Marikina not to waste the opportunity in the coming polls.

“Leaders like Stella Luz Quimbo don’t come often. Let’s not waste this chance,” she said.

Quimbo was among the candidates in the midterm elections that were issued show cause orders by the Commission on Elections to explain their side over allegations of vote buying and abuse of state resources (ASR).
