US Embassy Manila to continue visa interviews, ops on May 12
The United States Embassy in the Philippines announced on Friday that all scheduled visa interviews on Monday, May 12 shall proceed despite Malacañang’s declaration of holiday for the midterm elections.
“All applicants scheduled for visa interviews on May 12 should attend their appointments at the U.S. Embassy,” the embassy said in a statement.
“The Visa Application Center in Parañaque City will also remain open for visa applicants for photo and fingerprint collection. Our American Citizens Services (ACS) unit will continue to assist U.S. citizens with scheduled appointments and emergency matters.”
The embassy added that applicants who wish to reschedule their appointment may visit www.usvisascheduling.com.
Proclamation No. 878 states that there is a need to declare Monday, May 12, as a special non-working holiday to enable the people to properly exercise their right to vote.
