6 hurt in EDSA-Quezon Avenue tunnel crash

Six people were injured in a multiple-vehicle collision on the eastbound lane of EDSA-Quezon Avenue tunnel in Quezon City early Wednesday morning.

In a statement, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the victims, including a police officer, were brought to the hospital.

“Sa kabutihang-palad, wala namang nagtamo ng malubhang pinsala,” QCPD said.

(Fortunately, no one was seriously injured)

QCPD also said that a bus driver who was involved in the incident is now in the custody of the police amid an ongoing investigation.

Appropriate charges will be filed once the investigation and evidence are completed, the city police added.

Based on a separate report from the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), there were four vehicles involved in the collision, including a bus, a motorcycle, and two UV Express vehicles.

The injured persons were the rider of the motorcycle, the driver and two passengers of the UV Express, as well as the driver and a passenger of the second UV Express. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
