Cops nab suspect behind brutal stabbing of moto taxi rider in QC
The police said Tuesday they have arrested the suspect behind the brutal stabbing of a motorcycle taxi rider in Quezon City last April.
According to Glen Juego’s report in Super Radyo dzBB on Tuesday, Quezon City Police District director Police Colonel Randy Glenn Silvio said the suspect identified as alias “Mr. Bean” was caught by authorities in Barangay Pag-ibig Sa Nayon earlier in the day.
The arrest happened after the La Loma Police Station received information that the suspect was just walking within the area.
Arresting officers seized from the suspect a 9mm pistol and a magazine. He will also face charges.
To recall, the suspect suddenly attacked the 43-year-old rider when they reached an alleyway in Barangay Pag-Ibig sa Nayon at around 5 a.m. of April 20.
The assailant stabbed his victim at least 10 times before fleeing with the victim's motorcycle.
Nearby residents sought help from the barangay and immediately rushed the rider to the hospital.
Investigation showed that the suspect booked the rider at Recto Avenue in Manila going to the place of the incident. However, the motive behind the crime remains unclear. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
