Marikina River water level raised to 3rd alarm


The Marikina Public Information Office has raised to third alarm as the water level of the Marikina level has reached 18.3 meters by early Tuesday morning.

In a post, the Marikina PIO said the alarm was raised at 10:20pm.

By 11 p.m., the water level was at 18.3 meters and this level remained until 3:28 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

By 4 a.m., the water level is lower at 18.2 meters but the third alarm remains.

  • Aries - 4 mm
  • Mt. Oro - 13 mm
  • Nangka - 9 mm

Total = 30 mm

A total of 1,637 individuals, or 346 families, have been evacuated, according to a "24 Oras" report by Mariz Umali.

Residents near the river and in low-lying areas started evacuating as the Marikina River reached 2nd alarm at 1:53 p.m.

The evacuation centers in Marikina include some rooms in H.Bautista Elementary School were dedicated to senior citizens, lactating mothers, and pregnant women. Another room was turned into a soup kitchen. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
