LTO suspends license of tanker driver involved in Manila crash that hurt 3
The driver’s license of the man behind the wheel of an oil tanker that crashed into four other vehicles in Pandacan, Manila that injured three persons has been suspended for 90 days by the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
In its show cause order, the LTO, the driver’s assistant said they were on the bridge when the driver said the brakes were no longer responding.
The driver decided to swerve the tanker to the side of the bridge in attempt to stop but rammed an SUV, 2 SUVs and a motorcycle in the process.
Speaking after the accident, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon said it is a driver’s responsibility to make sure of the proper condition and road worthiness of the vehicle they are operating.
“Responsibilidad ng driver na siguruhing maayos ang kondisyon ng minamaneho niyang sasakyan, lalo na kung oil tanker ito. Laging bilin ng Pangulo na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga motorista at lahat ng road users," Dizon said.
