220 suspects arrested in 24 hours as NCRPO launch ‘aggressive ops'
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) arrested a total of 220 suspected criminals within 24 hours from Tuesday to Wednesday in its aggressive law enforcement operations.
In a statement, the NCRPO said the arrests were made from 6 a.m. on Tuesday to 5:59 a.m. on Wednesday.
Of the total arrested persons, the NCRPO said 61 were among the wanted persons, 45 were nabbed over drug-related offenses, 44 over illegal gambling, three over loose firearms, and 67 over various violations.
The NCRPO said it has implemented aggressive enforcement operations against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, loose firearms, and violations of local ordinances.
This is in line with the directive of Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Police General Nicolas Torre III to boost the organization’s swift and responsive public service pillar.
The NCRPO said the regional police office remains steadfast in intensifying operations that directly address both high-profile targets and street-level violations.
“Hindi natin palalagpasin ang anumang uri ng kriminalidad, mula sa malalaking sindikato hanggang sa maliliit na paglabag,” NCRPO chief Police Major General Anthony Aberin said.
(We will not tolerate any form of criminality, from big syndicates to petty violations.)
“Ang bawat operasyon ay patunay na ang inyong kapulisan ay handang rumesponde, magpanagot, at magbigay ng hustisya para sa ating mga komunidad. Ito ang tunay na diwa ng swift and responsive public service na ipinag-uutos ng ating Chief PNP,” he added.
(Every operation is proof that your police force is ready to respond, be accountable, and provide justice for our communities. This is the true spirit of swift and responsive public service as mandated by our Chief PNP.) —VAL, GMA Integrated News
