BOC now in custody of Discayas’ 28 luxury cars
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) on Thursday said 28 luxury vehicles linked to the Discaya family are now in its custody.
According to a statement, the BOC said the Discaya family surrendered 16 cars on Thursday, in addition to the 12 vehicles earlier secured during the implementation of a search warrant at the St. Gerrard Construction General Contractor & Development Corp. compound in Pasig City.
The vehicles are currently being processed and inspected for importation records and assessment of duties and taxes.
Customs officials, on Tuesday, implemented a search warrant on the properties of the Discaya family.
The 12 additional vehicles were found at the St. Gerrard construction premises later on.
The searches and seizures came after contractor and company owner Sarah Discaya admitted to owning a Rolls Royce and dozens of other luxury cars during a Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/RF, GMA Integrated News
