Anti-corruption protesters start to assemble at EDSA Shrine

Members protesting the corruption related to the anomalous flood projects have begun to assemble at the EDSA Shrine in Quezon City on Saturday morning.

In Mark Makalalad’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, several members of the group Bayan are now outside the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace at the corner of EDSA and Ortigas Avenue.

Bayan was originally scheduled to begin its program at 8:30 a.m. but moved it since they were still waiting for other members to arrive at the venue.

The group said once they have assembled, they will march at 9:30 a.m. to the People Power Monument at the corner of White Plains Avenue.

The group said that instead of benefiting the public through projects and services, government funds are instead being channeled to the pockets of corrupt politicians and government contractors.

Aside from the protesters, several police officers have been deployed to provide security in the area. — RF, GMA Integrated News
