LRT-2 offers free rides after repair in Santolan Station

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) operations returned to normal Tuesday morning after implementing limited trips due to the damage on the tracks at Santolan Station.

“Balik na sa normal ang operasyon ng LRT Line 2. May biyahe na mula RECTO STATION hanggang ANTIPOLO STATION at pabalik,” LRT-2 said in an advisory around 7:30 a.m.

Around 4 a.m., LRT-2 advised the public that damaged tracks at Santolan Station were under repair.

“Around 11 o’clock kagabi po may nadiskaril na bagon dito sa may Santolan. Kausap ko po so Administrator Cabrera dyan around 2:14 in the morning po naayos natin ang riles,” Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Secretary Giovanni Lopez told GMA Integrated News’ Unang Balita in an interview.

The operations were temporarily limited, only offering trips from Recto Station to Araneta Center-Cubao Station.

Due to this, free rides were offered to passengers, which will continue throughout the day, according to LRT-2. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
