North Avenue partially closed from Sept. 24 to Nov. 30, 2025 for MRT-7 works

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) announced that a portion of North Avenue in Quezon City will be temporarily closed to traffic for more than two months this year to make way for construction works related to the Metro Rail Transit Line 7 (MRT-7).

In a traffic advisory, the DOTr said the lane of North Avenue heading toward Elliptical Road will be closed 24 hours a day from September 24 until November 30, 2025. The closure will allow contractor SMC Mass Rail Transit 7 Inc. to carry out excavation works for the pedestrian tunnel of the Quezon Memorial Circle Station.

Motorists and commuters are advised to use alternative routes during the construction period. Detailed rerouting schemes have been released by the agency to guide the public.

The DOTr appealed for understanding, stressing that the project is part of its efforts to modernize the transport system and provide safer, more efficient mobility in Metro Manila.

"We sincerely ask for the public's cooperation and understanding for this temporary inconvenience, as we work toward delivering a modern, efficient, and comfortable public transport system for all Filipino commuters," the agency said.

Once completed, the MRT-7 will serve passengers traveling between North Avenue in Quezon City and San Jose del Monte in Bulacan. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
