Individual nabbed for offering minors for sexual exploitation

The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested an individual in Quezon City for offering up minors for sexual exploitation, the bureau announced Monday.

In a statement, the NBI said it launched an entrapment and rescue operation on September 18 after the subject offered access to the victims to a poseur-customer.

This led to the rescue of five minors and to the seizure of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation materials, according to the NBI.

Meanwhile, the subject was presented for inquest for qualified trafficking in persons.

The NBI said they are preparing to file an application for a warrant to examine computer data for the seized equipment.

According to the bureau, the operation stemmed from a case referral from the Royal Canadian Mountain Police through the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children Center.

It said it received information that authorities discovered that a Canadian national was paying the subject for the live online sexual abuse of her 12-year-old daughter.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
