Quezon City orders preemptive evacuation in flood-prone barangays 


The Quezon City government on Monday afternoon ordered pre-emptive evacuations in certain areas that are prone to flooding amid the threat of Super Typhoon Nando. 

The order was in line with the recommendation of the QC Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office. 

The following barangays are recommended to evacuate their residents: 

District 1 

  • Masambong 
  • Del Monte 
  • Damayan 
  • Talayan 
  • Mariblo 

District 2 

  • Bagong Silangan 
  • Batasan Hills 

District 3 

  • Libis 
  • Bagumbayan 

District 4 

  • Roxas 
  • Damayang Lagi 
  • Doña Imelda 

District 5 

  • Gulod 
  • Sta. Monico 
  • Novaliches Proper 
  • Capri
  • North Fairview 
  • Sta. Lucia 
  • San Bartolome 
  • Nagkaisang Nayon 

The QC government added that barangays that are not on the list, but have areas prone to flooding or landslides, are also encouraged to conduct pre-emptive evacuations. 

As of 4:52 p.m., some roads in the city are flooded due to the rains. 

There is an ankle-deep flood on Kalali cor. NS Amoranto in Barangay Sienna. 

Meanwhile, gutter-deep flooding is being experienced along Kaliraya to Araneta and Familara Kaliraya in Barangay Tatalon. Likewise, there’s a gutter deep flood along T. Mascardo cor. Rajah Matanda in Barangay Villa Maria Clara. 

Further, knee-deep flood is being experienced along NS Amoranto cor. Banawe in Barangay Sienna.
