Flood on Araneta Avenue in QC thigh-level in 15 minutes

Floodwaters rose to thigh level along Araneta Avenue in Quezon City just 15 minutes after the rain started Monday evening, causing the road to be impassable.

According to Mark Salazar’s “24 Oras” report, residents near Araneta Avenue corner Maria Clara St are more alert at nightfall as continuous rainfall persists for the last two hours.

The rain occasionally stopped, allowing the drainage system along Araneta Ave to channel the waters, but the flood still reached gutters deep.

The same situation is being monitored in other parts of Metro Manila.

PAGASA announced an Orange Rainfall Warning in Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Bulacan, Tarlac, parts of Rizal, and Cavite past 5 p.m.

At 5:30 p.m., almost zero visibility was observed along Commonwealth Ave.

Gutter-deep flood was monitored along Timog Ave and the Quezon Ave underpass, causing slow traffic movement. –NB, GMA Integrated News
