Man gunned down at close range inside home in Tondo, Manila
A 36-year-old man was shot dead at close range by three assailants as he was eating inside his home at the Aroma Compound in Tondo, Manila.
According to Nico Waje’s report in “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the crime was caught on camera with the footage showing the suspects wearing caps and their faces covered.
The motive was allegedly related to a turf war, police said.
“Nagkaroon sila ng parang awayan sa teritoryo doon sa kanilang mga illegal activities. Ang sinasabi doon ay illegal tampering ng tubig kasama na rin yung kuryente at ibang mga illegal activities,” said Manila Police District (MPD) spokesperson Police Major Philipp Ines.
(They had a sort of conflict over their turf related to their illegal activities. Things like illegal tampering of water meter, along with electricity and other illegal activities.)
One of the suspects was later arrested in Aroma Compound, but he denied the allegations.
The MPD said they have also identified the two other suspects.
“Yung dalawang kasabwat niya – yung isang lookout at yung isa pa, na kasamahan din na pumasok don sa residente o bahay nitong biktima natin, at large. Pero ganun pa man, na-identify ito at kasama ito sa naisampang kaso sa kanila, ito nga yung murder by shooting,” said Ines.
(His two accomplices – one was the lookout and the other one who also entered the residence or house of our victim – are at large. Nevertheless, they have been identified and included in the case filed against them, which is murder by shooting.)
