Men invade house in Pasig City, use violence on residents
A group of men invaded a house in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City, punching and kicking the residents with force and threatening them with what appeared to be a gun.
According to Jun Veneracion’s report in “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the incident that went viral online happened on September 23.
CCTV footage shows a man in a red cap confronting the home's occupants, then hitting them, including a woman who had stood up to him.
Another man, wearing a hoodie, enters the house and also attacks the occupants, kicking and punching another of the house's occupants.
The man in the red cap then takes out a gun while continuing to attack the victims. Then still more men enter the home, their faces covered, and start hitting the residents while the man in the cap forces open a bathroom door to pull out its occupant, a woman.
The man in the cap then appears to try to put his arms around the woman, but she pushes him away. She is eventually taken outside by the invaders while the man in the hoodie continued kicking one of the residents in the head and face.
Initial investigation showed that one of the assailants had gone to the house to retrieve his live-in partner, who had left him and sought refuge there.
Pasig City Police Station chief Colonel Hendrix Mangaldan however, claimed this was not an abduction.
“Sa initial validation namin, wala namang nangyaring abduction, kasi itong mga victims at alleged suspects ay magkakakilala. May mga hindi pagkakaintindihan,” he said.
(In our initial validation, there was no abduction that occurred, because these victims and alleged suspects know each other. There was some misunderstanding.)
The police also said the gun brandished by the man in the cap was a toy.
“Lumablabas na toy gun ‘yung gamit hindi baril. Hindi naman ito gang….Nandito lang sila sa Pasig,” said Mangaldan.
(It turns out they used a toy gun, not a real gun. They are not a gang….They are just here in Pasig.)
The police have summoned the suspects as several charges can be filed against them.
“Lumalabas dito pwede mag-file ng physical injuries, pwede mag-file ng trespassing doon sa mga pumasok, pwede rin mag-file ng grave threat, depende sa evaluation namin at sa interview namin sa mga victims,” said Mangaldan.
(It appears that we can file physical injuries charges, we can file trespassing charges against those who entered, and we can also file grave threat charges, depending on our evaluation and our interview with the victims.) — Vince Angelo Ferreras/BM, GMA Integrated News
