1 dead, 3 wounded after UV Express hits motorcycles, cars on Commonwealth Avenue

One person was killed while three others were injured after a UV Express plowed through 12 motorcycles and two cars on Commonwealth Avenue.

According to Sandra Aguinaldo's report on "24 Oras" on Friday, continued on its way even after it hit the vehicles.

A truck tried to block its path, but it managed to make it to a U-turn slot.

The authorities caught up with the UV driver, who was brought to Sector 5 of the Quezon City Police District Traffic Enforcement Unit. 

Families of the victims and some wounded also went to the police station. 

“While I was driving along Commonwealth Avenue, someone hit the rear of my motorcycle. My motorcycle and I suddenly flew off,” said motorcycle rider Joerie Bioncio. 

The driver of one of the cars that was hit by the UV Express said that truck helpers threw things at the suspect. The UV Express, he said, backed up and hit his car before again going on its way.

The suspect said he had a road altercation with another motorist before the incident happened.

The suspect will undergo a drug test, although he tested negative for alcohol. –Vince Angelo Ferreras/NB, GMA Integrated News
