Smoking cellphone alarms LRT-1 passengers in Manila

A smoking cellphone of a passenger caused panic among commuters in Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) on Wednesday evening.

According to a report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, the Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) said the train driver immediately brought out the cellphone at Central Terminal Station.

Security and other station personnel responded to the incident.LRMC said no one was hurt in the incident. 

Although the incident did not disrupt train operations, the train still underwent full inspection. 

The LRMC said there were no damages to the train and the incident did not affect any LRT-1 facilities. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA Integrated News
