Student dies as motorcycle hits LRT concrete post in Malate —MPD

A 21-year-old student was killed when his motorcycle hit a concrete post of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) in Malate, Manila on Wednesday evening, the Manila Police District (MPD) said on Thursday. 

Based on a police report, the victim was going down the southbound lane of Taft Avenue around 11:32 p.m. when the front side of his motorcycle hit the concrete post of the LRT near the corner of Vito Cruz Street. 

The rider was ejected several meters away from his motorcycle, resulting in a severe head injury. His motorcycle also incurred an unestimated amount of damage.

An ambulance arrived at the scene at 11:48 p.m. and responders conducted a medical assessment on the victim. But he was declared dead, according to the police.

His remains have been transferred to Funeraria Cruz in Sta. Cruz. — Joviland Rita/BM, GMA Integrated News
