Man wanted for killing security guard nabbed after 10 years in hiding

A man wanted for killing a security guard in Pasig City in 2011 was arrested after more than a decade of hiding. 

According to Emil Sumangil’s exclusive report in “24 Oras” on Thursday, police located the suspect in Dimasalang, Masbate. 

The suspect, who was an officer-in-charge of a security agency, is wanted for murder.

“Away trabaho ang nakikita naming motibo dito. Dahil accordingly, itong biktima natin ay ayaw sumunod dito sa OIC. So pinatay niya at nagtago sa Dimasalang, Masbate,” said Pasig Police chief Police Colonel Hendrix Mangaldan. 

(We are looking at a work-related dispute as the motive here. Accordingly, our victim refused to follow the OIC. So, he killed his subordinate and went into hiding in Dimasalang, Masbate.) 

Authorities were able to find the suspect’s location after he committed a traffic violation. 

“May nakuha tayong ticket niya sa isang traffic violation dito sa Pasig, kung saan nandoon ‘yung address. In-exploit natin through intelligence fusion at natunton nga natin na nandoon sa Dimasalang, Masbate,” said Mangaldan. 

(We obtained his ticket from a traffic violation here in Pasig, which contained his address. We exploited this through intelligence fusion, and we successfully tracked him down in Dimasalang, Masbate.)
