The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday started the printing of the official ballots for the March 14 special elections in the second district of Antipolo City.
According to the Comelec, a total of 252,793 ballots and accountable forms will be printed for the special polls to be conducted following the passing of late Rep. Romeo Acop.
The printing process is targeted to be completed in one day to ensure efficiency and timely deployment, the elections body added.
Acop, 78, passed away on December 20, 2025 after succumbing to a heart attack.
Under Republic Act 6645, the Comelec is mandated to conduct a special election if a vacancy occurs in the Senate at least 18 months or in the House of Representatives at least one year before the next regular election for members of Congress. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
