Structural engineers have been deployed at the EDSA-Ortigas Interchange flyover where a bus caught fire on Friday night, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in a statement released on Saturday.

"Nagdeploy ng mga crew at Structural Engineers ang Department of Public Works and Highways sa EDSA Ortigas Flyover (Southbound), at EDSA Ortigas Interchange... upang i-assess ang pinsala ng tulay, at magsagawa ng safety works mula sa insidente ng nasunog na bus dito," the DPWH said.

It added that flyover is now passable.

"Matapos ang mga isinagawang safety works sa tulay, agad naman itong binuksan sa publiko," said the DPWH.

(After the safety works were carried out on the bridge, it was immediately opened to the public.)

"Patuloy na babantayan ng ahensya ang kondisyon ng Interchange upang masigurado ang integridad nito, para sa kaligtasan ng mga motorista at komyuters," it added.
