1 dead after fire hits residential area in Parañaque City
One person died after a fire hit a residential subdivision in Barangay San Dionisio, Parañaque City, on Saturday.
According to a report by Super Radyo dzBB’s Carlo Mateo on Sunday, the fire broke out at Gatchalian 1 Subdivision, where a 25-year-old man failed to escape the blaze.
The victim was identified by his relatives, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.
The fire affected four houses and reached the second alarm. It started shortly after 5 p.m. and was declared extinguished past 8 p.m.
At least 15 families, or around 45 individuals, were affected by the incident.
The BFP said the fire started on the second floor of one of the houses before quickly spreading to nearby homes.

Meanwhile, another fire hit at least 10 houses along Santa Maria Street in Barangay San Antonio, also in Parañaque City, on Sunday noon.
According to Super Radyo dzBB reporter Sam Nielsen, the BFP said the affected houses were made of light materials. No injuries were reported.
Authorities are still determining the number of affected families. The BFP is also investigating the cause of the fire and the estimated cost of damage.
The latest incident marked the third fire in Parañaque City since May 6, the report added.—Vince Angelo Ferreras/MCG, GMA News
