Man who helped fight fire in Bgy. Pasong Putik, QC dies

A 52-year-old man died after assisting neighbors in controlling the fire that razed homes in Barangay Pasok Putik in Quezon City.

According to GMA News' James Agustin, the victim died from suffocation.

Members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team said the man was rushed to the nearby hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The blaze that started past 1 a.m. on Wednesday destroyed 15 homes and displaced 25 families.

The fire was declared out at 2:52 a.m.

The Bureau of Fire Protection is investigating the cause of the fire. —LDF, GMA News
