Three members of a family died after they were trapped inside their burning home in Navotas City early Thursday morning.

According to Vonne Aquino’s report in “Saksi,” the incident happened at a residential neighborhood along L. Santos Street in Barangay Tangos past 3 a.m.

Among the fatalities is a 45-year-old woman, her nine-year-old child, and her 20-year-old pregnant daughter.

Meanwhile, three others were injured and brought to a hospital after suffering burns.

The Navotas Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said that around 10 houses were destroyed and 20 families were affected.

The fire, which reached the second alarm, was extinguished at 6:57 a.m.

Some affected residents tried to salvage anything they could after the fire.

“We were not able to save anything. I hope we could be provided with clothing and food,” said Rafael Benaid.

The BFP said the estimated amount of damage is P70,000. The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
