The Mandaluyong City Police Station is investigating a parking dispute that went viral on social media after a video showed an individual allegedly brandishing a firearm at a motorist.

In a press release on Saturday, the Mandaluyong police said they were aware of the circulating video and were treating the incident with the “highest level of urgency and concern.”

“We recognize the public’s concern regarding this incident, particularly over the display of a firearm in a public or residential area,” the police said.

“We would like to clarify that our investigators are already on the ground to identify the parties involved and verify the details surrounding the incident,” it added.

According to police, the dispute reportedly began after a motorist parked in front of the suspect’s residence. In a Facebook post by Super Radyo dzBB, the suspect allegedly introduced himself as a general.

Authorities reminded the public that using a firearm to threaten or intimidate others is illegal and may result in appropriate legal and administrative action.

The Mandaluyong police also urged the parties involved, as well as any witnesses with relevant information, to come forward and coordinate with its Investigation Section.—MCG, GMA News
