Roads around Mendiola, Malacanang closed to motorists amid White Ribbon protest
Several roads from the Mendiola district leading to Malacanang Palace were closed to motorists by several police barricades on Sunday afternoon amid the White Ribbon protest action in Metro Manila.
In Sam Nielsen’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, police officers and steel railings have blocked a number of certain streets and roads.
From San Sebastian Street, both lanes of Recto Avenue have been closed to vehicles due to the police barricades.
Traffic was rerouted to Loyola Street which has caused some congestion starting 1 p.m.
Ernshaw and Legarda Streets were also blocked by steel railings and container vans.
The route from Nagtahan passing through Otis has also been closed.
Another barricade was also spotted at Ayala Bridge from Lopez and Romualdez Streets.
Some motorists were being allowed to pass through Jose Laurel Street under strict police scrutiny.
