Around 2,500 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) were deployed as 10,000 individuals are expected to participate in the White Ribbon March on Sunday.
As of 2:30 p.m., the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) tallied an estimate of 3,500 participants in the gathering of progressive and religious groups seeking accountability from the present administration and the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
QCPD spokesperson Police Major Jennifer Ganaban told GMA News Online said the number of the crowd is expected to increase later in the day.
Ganaban said some 1,500 police personnel are deployed in EDSA People Power Monument where the event is being staged. But there are also police officers deployed at the Welcome Rotunda and near the House of Representatives.
