Man arrested for allegedly stabbing coworker over bullying
A man was arrested in Quezon City after allegedly stabbing his coworker following repeated bullying, police said.
According to a “24 Oras” report on Saturday, the incident occurred at a construction site along Quirino Highway in Barangay Greater Lagro.
Police said the victim had allegedly been bullying the suspect, leading to a physical altercation that escalated into a stabbing.
“They had a previous feud,” Pasong Putik Police Station 16 commander PLt. Col. Timothy Aniway told GMA News.
The suspect allegedly used a sharp piece of metal to stab the victim, who sustained wounds to both cheeks and the back.
Police responded to the scene and took the victim to a hospital for treatment. The suspect was later cornered and arrested, but the weapon was not recovered.
At the police station, the suspect denied stabbing the victim. He said he had grown tired of the alleged bullying and was merely trying to free himself after the victim put him in a headlock.
“He was always bullying and provoking me. He was always challenging me to fight outside,” the unnamed suspect said in Filipino.
The suspect is facing a charge of frustrated homicide. GMA News is seeking the victim’s statement and will update the story once it is received.—Jean Mangaluz/MCG, GMA News
