Cargo bus crashes into concrete barriers on EDSA-Quezon Ave.

A cargo bus crashed into concrete barriers at the busway in a portion of EDSA-Quezon Avenue in the early hours of Sunday, July 26.

According to Super Radyo dzBB's Carlo Mateo, authorities have begun clearing the concrete barriers plowed by the bus.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) deployed a tow truck to tow the cargo bus. The bus's front was heavily damaged due to the impact.

MMDA's initial investigation showed that the bus, which was carrying vegetables, came from Abra and the driver dozed off upon arriving in Quezon City.

The bus driver did not suffer any injuries. However, he will face charges of reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.

The incident caused heavy traffic flow on the southbound lane of EDSA-Quezon Avenue. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/KG, GMA News
