Zubiri bares new Senate sked amid impeachment trial, budget season

Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri on Monday released the new schedule of the Senate in the coming weeks as the chamber juggles the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte, the 2027 budget deliberations, and its legislative agenda.

In an art card posted on Facebook, Zubiri noted that the following schedule was agreed upon in an all-senators caucus:

• September 7, 8, 9: Impeachment in the morning; budget hearings and session for the legislative agenda in the afternoon
• September 10 & 11: Budget hearings the whole day
• September 14, 15, 16: Impeachment in the morning; budget hearings and session for the legislative agenda in the afternoon
• September 17 & 18: Budget hearings the whole day
• September 21, 22, 23: Impeachment in the morning; budget hearings and session for the legislative agenda in the afternoon
• September 24 & 25: Budget hearings the whole day
• September 28, 29, 30: Impeachment in the morning; budget hearings and session for the legislative agenda in the afternoon
• September 30: Suspension of session
• October 1 & 2: Impeachment the whole day
• October 5, 6, 7, 8, 9: Impeachment the whole day
• October 12, 13, 14, 15: Impeachment the whole day
• October 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23: Budget hearings the whole day, when necessary

“As Majority Leader, it is our responsibility to ensure that the work in the Senate runs smoothly and without unnecessary delays. We have a lot of work to do, pero laban lang. Kung kailangang 24/7 tayong magtrabaho, gagawin natin,” Zubiri said.
