SC dismisses admin complaint vs. 7 CA justices
The Supreme Court (SC) has dismissed the complaint filed by the Office of the Ombudsman against seven associate justices of the Court of Appeals (CA) for alleged gross ignorance of the law.
In a resolution dated December 2025, the SC dismissed the administrative complaint against the justices for being judicial in nature and lacking of merit.
The respondents were Associate Justices Marlene Gonzales-Sison, Rafael Antonio Santos, Louis Acosta, Roberto Quiroz, Rex Bernardo Pascual, Mary Charlene Hernandez-Azura, and Ferdinand Baylon.
The complaint stemmed from the justices' issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) against a preventive suspension order involving eight members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Antique.
Last week, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla urged the SC to act on the complaint, which was filed by his predecessor, Samuel Martires. — VDV, GMA News
