4 of Zaldy Co's ex-bodyguards issued arrest warrants; bail posted
Arrest warrants were issued against four out of 18 former bodyguards of ex-lawmaker Zaldy Co, but they were able to walk free after immediately posting bail.
In a DZBB report from Glen Juego on Friday, San Juan City police arrested four of the 18 ex-bodyguards due to a cyberlibel case filed against them.
San Juan City Chief of Police Col. Anthony Gantang confirmed the arrest directly to DZBB.
The arrest was made while the four ex-bodyguards were facing another case at the Hall of Justice in San Juan City.
Gantang said that the ex-bodyguards were able to walk free after posting bail on the same day at 4:00 p.m.
Each of them paid a bail of P10,000 for the cyberlibel complaint.
At least 10 other former bodyguards have been arrested due to perjury charges. The bodyguards, also known as maleta boys, made headlines for claiming to make cash deliveries for Co and several other personalities.
However, four out of the 18 have since recanted their testimonies, wanting to remain silent instead. —Jean Mangaluz/LDF, GMA News
